Jim Gray Answers Questions on Run for Christian County Recorder

Christian County Sun Interview with Jim Gray, Republican candidate for Recorder of DeedsThe following is an interview with Jim Gray conducted by the Christian County Sun via email. Jim is currently seeking the office of Recorder of Deeds for Christian County as a Republican. He has several opponents in this race including Kelly Blunt Hall, Sharon Stewart, & Dennis Clinton. SUN: Why are you running for Christian County Recorder of Deeds?

Jim Gray:  As Recorder of Deeds, I will see to it that the recorder’s office is run in a professional and business like manner with customer service as the top priority.

SUN: Now that we know why you’re running, why are you running as a Republican?

Jim Gray:  Actually, I am a conservative American, but having to select a party to run with, the Republican party aligns more with my political views.

SUN: How do you think your experience has prepared you for the role of a county recorder?

Jim Gray:  I have over 20 years experience as a territory manager and have been top in my region for the last 14 years. As a territory manager, my experience includes daily interaction with customers, understanding the need behind the need, precise reporting, solving customer concerns, follow-up and attention to detail. I have managed employees and have a very good understanding of budget performance.

SUN: What is the first thing you would change about the way the Recorder’s office is run?

Jim Gray:  We definitely need to step into the 21st century. Updating the website and options is pertinent to increased customer service and income to the county.

SUN: What else would you change?

Jim Gray:  Awareness and education of what the recorders office is and what it does. Also encourage cooperation and collaboration between all office holders in Christian county.

SUN: From talking with people around Christian County, what do you think are the most important issues to people in this county, both in this race & longer term?

Jim Gray:  I believe service, accuracy and security are the core areas of concern for this office as well as renewing a trust of elected officials.

SUN: What makes you different from all the other candidates for Recorder?

Jim Gray:  Having been a commission salesperson for the last 20+ years, I fully understand the budget process and the options you utilize in any economy.

SUN: Why should Christian County voters cast their ballot for you on August 3?

Jim Gray:  I will focus on service, understanding that their time is valuable and that we are here to serve the citizens of Christian county.
