Dennis Clinton Answers Questions on Campaign for Christian County Recorder
The following is an interview with Dennis Clinton conducted by the Christian County Sun via email. Dennis is currently seeking the office of Recorder of Deeds for Christian County as a Republican. He has several opponents in this race, including Jim Gray, Kelly Blunt Hall, & Sharon Stewart. SUN: Why are you running for Christian County Recorder of Deeds?
Dennis Clinton: The Recorder’s office is in dire need of professionalism and improved customer service. After talking to many patrons of the office, I decided that I could make a difference in the office by bringing in my strong leadership skills that I have gained as an assistant chief in the fire service as well as my personal dedication to serving the community in the best possible way. I feel like this is another way that I can give back to the community that I love. I have been involved in serving the Ozark area and Christian County since the mid 1970’s as a reserve police officer with the City of Ozark, a reserve Christian County Deputy, an EMT with Christian County Ambulance. I was a Scout Leader, chartered the Ozark chapter of Jaycees, and was a member of the Ozark Booster Club. I served on the Ozark School Board for three years and on the Christian County Ambulance District for 13 years. I am proud to be a part of the county I was born and raised in and I want others to be proud of Christian County and its government.
SUN: Now that we know why you’re running, why are you running as a Republican?
Dennis Clinton: I was raised with strong conservative Christian values and the Republican Party exemplifies those core beliefs.
SUN: How do you think your experience has prepared you for the role of a county recorder?
Dennis Clinton: I have been in a leadership role with the fire service for over 20 years and I have learned great management and leadership skills. With my 35 plus years with Coca-Cola and Associated Wholesale Grocers I demonstrated and exemplary work ethic and customer service skills. I have exceptional organizational and leadership skills that will help me effectively run an efficient office with a focus on accuracy while treating each other and our customers with respect.
SUN: What is the first thing you would change about the way the Recorder’s office is run?
Dennis Clinton: I would make sure my team is qualified, competent, efficient and courteous. Everyone in the office would know the importance of accuracy, professionalism and good customer service and would be held accountable to a higher level in all of these areas
SUN: What else would you change?
Dennis Clinton: . I would try to implement new technology to the office to enhance our service.
SUN: From talking with people around Christian County, what do you think are the most important issues to people in this county, both in this race & longer term?
Dennis Clinton: They want people in this office to be courteous, helpful and friendly. I feel like all employees of the county government need to get along. I feel like the citizens of the county would like all government officials to be accountable for their actions. The residents of Christian County want to be proud of those that serve and represent them.
SUN: What makes you different from all the other candidates for Recorder?
Dennis Clinton: My proven leadership and management skills as well as my ability to effectively manage a large budget. I bring in exceptional supervisory experience and all that it entails.
SUN: Why should Christian County voters cast their ballot for you?
Dennis Clinton: Because I have the leadership and management skills that is needed to take this office to the next step and make it the best Recorders Office in Missouri. I have a proven lifelong commitment to the residents of Christian County and am ready to serve them further as the next Recorder of Deeds.
