Support Local Charities at the Aldersgate 5k/10k Runs, Pancake Breakfast June 26

Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Nixa is raising money to benefit the Aldersgate Compassion Ministry & Least of These Pantry in Nixa by hosting a 5k & 10k (3.1 mile & 6.2 mile) run.

The races are scheduled for 7:30am on Saturday June 26. Registration is $15 prior to race day, or $20 at the event. Participants & spectators are also asked to bring some canned or boxed food items to the race to donate to the food pantry.

This is a great opportunity to help support the local community & get some exercise. Matthew P. Block, publisher & editor of the Christian County Sun, will be running the 10k race. So here’s your chance to come out & show that you’re faster than me.

If you’re not up for running either of the events, walking the course is a great way to participate as well. You can cheer the runners on as they run the course or cross the finish line as well. That kind of encouragement is always welcome. So come out & break a sweat (or at least watch others break one) & support a couple great local charities. Then we can all enjoy some pancakes afterwards.
